Judith Vanderlip, age 78, of Painesville, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing Facility in Madison
Born November 16, 1932 in Euclid to LaVern (Jackson) and Lloyd Prentice
Judith worked as a telephone operator in Geneva, Carlisle?s Department Store in Painesville, Dick?s Sporting Goods in Mentor and finally retired as a Supervisor from the Lake County Bureau of Support
Judith attended Platt R. Spencer in Geneva. She was very talented musically and sang in the Unionville Congregational Church Choir as a young woman. Her musical talents also allowed her to play the piano, ukulele, and organ very well. She was a devoted mother. Throughout the years, her God-given humorous nature allowed her to always choose the best words to capture the moment.
She is survived by her Son: Dale Vanderlip of Painesville, Daughter: Kathy (Tim) Fannin of Antwerp, Ohio
Brother: Richard Prentice of Painesville, and Sister: Donna (Vaughn) Reese of Madison
Nephews: Matthew Reese of Seattle, Washington, Richard (Ricky) Prentice of Mentor, Randal (Randy) Prentice of Pittsburgh, PA, Nieces: Amy and Bethany Reese of Loma Linda, CA, Nadine Nichols of Spencer, Ohio and Shannon Teachout of Concord
She was preceded in death by: Her Parents and Former Husband Norman Vanderlip
Friends will be received from 10:00-11:00am on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the United Church, 6870 South Ridge Road in Unionville. Services will follow at 12noon at the church
Final Resting Place will be at Alexander Harper Memorial Cemetery in Unionville
