Juan "Johnny" Aponte Jr

Juan "Johnny" Aponte, Jr., age 78 of Geneva, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014. Born August 10, 1936 in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Antonia (Torres) & Juan Aponte, Sr. He married Irene Gonzales on January 13, 1989 in Puerto Rico. Juan came to America and was a taxi driver in New York when he met Irene. They returned to Puerto Rico to be married and eventually came to Geneva. He loved music and enjoyed the company of friends & family. He is survived by his wife, Irene; step-children, Iris Miranda, Elsie Hernandez, Elba Hernandez, Wilfredo Hernandez; brothers, Louis (Milta) Aponte, Miguel (Monsi) Aponte, Jose (Kimberly) Aponte; sisters, Emelia Toledo; Sonia (Iseia) Cedeno. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George, Roberto, Enrique, & Domingo Aponte; sisters, Maria Plaza; Margo Santana. Friends will be received 5-7 PM, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 South Broadway, Geneva, OH 44041. Final resting place will be Cyprus Hill Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.
