Joyce H. Castrilla

Joyce H. Castrilla, age 92, formerly of Madison and Harpersfield, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at The Echelon of Medina. She was born October 22, 1927 in Conneaut, OH to Irus and Jessie (Hogle) Smith. She married Jacob Castrilla in 1947 and enjoyed 60 wonderful years together. Joyce was co-owner of Springwood Products in Geneva with her husband. She was a member of Park United Methodist Church and when her children were young she taught Sunday School classes and was active in Cub Scouts and PTO with their schools. Joyce loved spending time with family and friends and cooking for family gatherings. She is survived by daughter, Linda (Robert) Slaga; son, Gary Castrilla; many loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice (Jerry) Dalrymple, Doris Beckwith; and daughter-in-law Carole Castrilla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob; sons Gregory and Thomas Castrilla; her parents; sisters, Wilma Bristol and Lois Supplee; and brothers, Gerald Smith and Kenneth Smith. Friends will be received 1-3 pm, Friday, March 6, 2020 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057 with a service immediately following at the funeral home.
