Joseph V. Tatar, 84, of Perry, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 Kemper House in Mentor. Born January 10, 1925 in Cunningham, West Virginia, to Dorothy (Beuglas) & Joseph Tatar he married Helen Gouzd on January 6, 1945 in Mannington, West Virginia. He was an Industrial Arts Teacher and Coach at Perry High School and retired from Cleveland Heights High School. Graduate of Farmington, West Virginia and Fairmont State. Served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Member of St. Cyprians Catholic Church. Enjoyed golfing, gardening, and carpentry He is survived by wife, Helen of Perry; Daughters, Linda (Chuck) Metcalf of Eastlake, Amy (Chuck) Tilly of Flagstaff, AZ; Sons, Philip (Page) Tatar of Denver, CO & David (Margie) Tatar of Perry; 11 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Sarah Toothman of Mannington, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents Friends will be received 2-4:00 pm, Sunday, November 15, 2009 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Monday, November 16, 2009 at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road, Perry, Ohio with Rev. George Kusy presiding. Final Resting Place will be at Perry Cemetery in Perry, Ohio.
