Joseph Robert Green

Joseph Robert Green, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Tri-Point Hospital. He was born August 5, 1926 in Geneva to Ruth (Bailey) and Walter Green and married Linda B. Sprague on January 30, 1949.
Joseph was a 1944 graduate of Madison High School and was a member of Madison Park United Methodist Church. After high school Joseph joined the Navy Seabees and served in World War II from January 20,1945 to July 17, 1946. During his time in the service he got the opportunity to travel the world. Joseph was also a member of Madison American Legion Post 112. Joseph returned to Green Farm, where he worked as a farmer with his father and brother. They operated a dairy farm, vineyard and grew many other crops. Joseph continued the farming tradition with his children and grandchildren, who continue to run the farm today. Joseph was married to his best friend and lifelong partner for the last 64 years. They resided on Green Farm and raised a beautiful family that included 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who all still love to spend time at "the farm". Pa was well loved by all and will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife Linda Green of Madison; children, Judith Weber of Perry, Sharon (Rick) Daugherty of Madison, Patricia (Rob) Wyant of Perry, Joseph Green of Madison; daughter-in-law, Deborah Pivonka-Green of Madison; grandchildren, Richard Daugherty of Madison, Stacy (Steve) Fening of Brecksville, Katrina and Erin Green of Geneva, Linda (Troy) Mooney of Perry, Bob (Michelle) Wyant of Thompson, Debra (Aaron) Schwartz of Leroy, Tiffany Green of Wooster, Jesse and Jacob Green of Madison, Natalie (Dan) Sisler of Painesville; great-grandchildren, Cecelia Green, Anthony and Tatum Sedillo, Noah Burrows, Heidi and Bobby Wyant, Carly and Kellan Schwartz, Abigail and Andrew Fening. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Fay Francis and Kay Zimmerman; brothers, Richard and Walter Green; son-in-law, Lawrence Weber and son, Martin Green.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 9 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 and 9 to 11 am on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Middle Ridge Cemetery in Madison.
