John T. Dzopko

John T. Dzopko, age 73, of Madison, Ohio, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at TriPoint Medical Center. He was born July 23, 1942 in Geneva to Joseph and Olga (Gottbehuet-Trzaska) Dzopko. He married Eleanor Pecsok.
John was a lifelong resident of Madison. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Air Force as well as his 30 plus years of service in the Madison Fire District. John retired as a Captain of the Fire District and as an appliance technician from Sears & Roebuck. He was one of the nicest guys you would ever meet. He was an animal lover who especially enjoyed feeding Hummingbirds and Orioles.
He is survived by his son, Russell Giba; mother, Joanne Dzopko; sisters, Candice (Larry Shoup) Carr, Joanne Wadsworth, Theresa Rozelle; brother, Walter (Bonnie) Trzaska. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; and his parents.
Friends will be received 11 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio with a funeral service following immediately at 1:00 p.m. Final Resting Place will be Fairview Memorial Park.

I'am so sorry for your lose . He worked with my father in-law , James Mascorella . I enjoyed stopping in and talking to John . He will be missed. Steve Lanning , Cindy Lanning , Lois Mascorella .
My heart sank when I heard of John's death. He was a great friend and neighbor on Ford Road during our teenage years. I chose John as a pall bearer for my Dad upon his tragic and untimely death in 1960. Thanks John for being there for me during the darkest time of my life.

I had the honor and privilege to know and work with him on the fire dept for the 6yrs I was on Madison and was assigned to Sta 3 . Truly one of the nicest people you will ever meet ,Heaven is a better place God Speed Captain John
To all of John's family, we are thinking of you. The south Madison community will surely miss John. We are so grateful for his service to the Fire Department and for being a great neighbor.
