John Robert Simsic

John Robert Simsic, age 85 passed away June 24, 2021. He was born September 8, 1935 the son of Anne (Grladinovic) and John Simsic.
John was a retired officer from the Cleveland Police Department and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #8. There wasn’t anywhere he could go where he would not run into someone he knew and start up a conversation. He always had lots of friends. He enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a talented singer. He was an avid animal lover and was always willing to help those in need. He also was very proud of his Croatian heritage.
John leaves behind his son, John Michael Simsic; daughters, Angela (D.J.) Spring and Kimberly Dubecky; 5 grandchildren, Jordan, Alex, Kyle, Lucas and Giada; great grandson, Cooper; and sister, Judy Miller. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Jean (Conder) Simsic.
Friends and family will be received from 5-8 pm, Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Service will be held 11 am Friday, July 2, 2021 at St. Cyprian’s Catholic Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road in Perry. Contributions may be made in his name to Lake County Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Blvd., Suite E, Mentor, OH 44060.
