John Keith Whitely

John Keith Whitely, age 76 of Painesville, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Tri-Point Medical Center in Concord. Born July 18, 1941 in Painesville, John was the son of the late John and Mary Elizabeth (Boisen) Whitely. He married Ethelann Zelna on October 24, 1992 in Perry. John was a talented artist who enjoyed painting portraits, caricatures, and murals. He loved the outdoors and spending time outside in the sun. A friend of Bill for 19 years, he was grateful for his many years of sobriety. John worked full time as the Program Assistant for the Lake Geauga Recovery Center at Lake House, a position that allowed him to sponsor many friends during their recovery. He is survived by his wife: Ethelann "Scotti"; daughters: JoAnne Carole Whitely and Tamarie Carmack; son: Kent; grandchildren: John, Sarah, Amanda, Jonathon, Jacob; great grandchildren: Alexander and Mila; sister: Grace. He was preceded in death by his son: John David. Friends and family will be received from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison.
