John "Jack" Evans, Jr., Age 74, resident of Madison, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010 University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Born January 1, 1936 in Pataskala to Mildred (Brown) & John William Evans, Sr., he married Barbara Shultz in Mansfield, Ohio on June 28, 1969
Jack loved working as a cross country truck driver for 50 years. He owned and operated Evans Auction Service. He enjoyed conversations on his CB radio, known as ?Master Jack?, and had been active in REACT. Known as ?The Voice of Northeastern Ohio?, Jack announced for the 4-H and truck pulling events at several area county fairs. For 17 years he was involved with the Ashtabula 4-H and was inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame. He loved camping with his friends and family.
He is survived by Wife, Barbara Evans of Madison; Children, Scott Evans of Mansfield, Kim (Doug) Arter of Milan, OH, Karen (Rod) Neal of Bellville, OH, Renee Sokalski of Mentor; Step-Daughter, Brenda Parsons of Mansfield;
16 Grandchildren; 18 Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Charles H. Evans.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Connie Evans; nephew, Jeff Clawson.
Friends will be received 2-5:00 pm, Sunday, November 14, 2010, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, Monday, November 15, 2010 at the funeral Home.
Final Resting Place will be at Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, Ohio.
