John Boyce, age 83, of Madison, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 13, 1940 in Rochester, New York, the son of William and Mary Boyce.
John was a retired mechanic, welder, electrician, and mine foreman from Morton Salt, Fairport OH mine in 2003 after 30 years. Proud Army Veteran after serving in Company A, Second Battalion as an Armor Tank Vehicle Mechanic from 1959 to 1963.
He is survived by his wife, June Marie Haight Boyce; daughters, Melissa (Arlie) Bright and Anna Burch; grandchildren Carl (Grace) Boyce, Arthur Bright, Hailie Bright, Merian Bright, Justin (Heidy) Anderson, Christopher (Vanessa) Anderson. Great grandchildren Kelvin, Copernicus, Ilse, Carter, Ryleigh, Johnny and Brody.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Boyce; brothers, Wade and Houston Boyce; and sister Estrella (Emil) Depitro.
He is remembered as a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He worked hard and lived a life of truth, and integrity. Our family’s greatest Hero in life.
