Jewell C. Murphy, age 94, of Painesville, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 30, 1924 in Ivydale, WV to Gertrude (Barnes) and Robert Waitman Parker. Jewell married Ray Murphy in Greenup, KY on July 29, 1940.
She was a housekeeper for the Charles Bolton family of Mentor. Jewell enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening.
She is survived by her daughters, Reva Taylor and Suzanne Cantrell, both of Painesville; sons, Gary R. (Donna) Murphy of Tuscon, AZ and Audie Dean Murphy of Painesville; 10 grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nina Williams of MI and Merle Peters. Preceding her in death are her husband, Ray Murphy; her parents; daughter, Eva Jewell Murphy; son-in-law, Cameron Cantrell; daughter-in-law, Suzette Murphy; sister, Virginia Baker; and brother, Dallas Parker.
Friends will be received 6-8:00 PM Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 19, 2018 at the funeral home with grandson, Pastor Michael Murphy officiating. Final Resting Place will be Perry Cemetery in Perry.
