Jesse J. Nettles

Jesse J. Nettles, age 81, of Madison, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at UH Geneva Medical Center. He was born April 16, 1939 in McComb, MS the son of Willie Lee Nettles and Jennie Vee (Mercier) Nettles. He married Beverly Wanamaker in Cleveland, OH on September 3, 1966. Jesse served in the United States Navy and operated out of Newport, RI. As a veteran he served on three different ships: two were Destroyer Tenders and one was a Radar Pickett Ship. He attended Lincoln Electric Welding School, and worked in the field as a welder for 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly; daughter Lori (John) Smith; son, Steven (Samantha Elder) Nettles; grandchildren, Daniel, Brian, Skylar, and Addison; sister, Emma J. Hesketh. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Nettles; sisters, Frankie Brown and Zula Mae Spencer. Graveside Service will be planned and announced in springtime.
