Jerry Marks Asbury
Jerry Asbury died March 11, 2010 peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Born August 3, 1949 in Geneva, Ohio, he lived in Madison for the past 60 years. Jerry took over the family business from his father Clyde E. Asbury, who started Asbury Plumbing in 1964. Jerry operated the business for 28 years; he was a master at his trade. His son Travis worked alongside him for 16 years. They spent a large part of that time working for Payne & Payne Builders. Jerry served in the United States Air Force for 4 years from 1968 to 1972.
He loved the outdoors, traveling with his family and gardening with his beloved wife. He was also very talented in wood working and stone work. Jerry enjoyed the time spent with the many friends that he had made over the years.
Survivors include his wife Kelly Jean (Creel); son Travis Stephen and daughter Scarlett Marquis; brother Damon (Jacci) Asbury of Columbus, Ohio and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde E. Asbury and Irene R. Asbury.
Friends and family will be received 2 to 4:00 and from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 19, 2010 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio.
Memorial Services for Jerry M. Asbury will be conducted by Andy Wilson at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Madison Kingdom Hall, 7320 Middle Ridge Rd, Madison.
