Jeanette Ellen DeSantis-Tyukody

June 16, 1934 ~ March 7, 2025
Jeanette Ellen DeSantis –Tyukody
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeanette Ellen DeSantis-Tyukody, 90 of Madison, will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison.
Mrs. Tyukody passed away March 7, 2025. She was born June 16, 1934 in Cleveland, amd was a lifelong resident of Madison.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and until Covid, regularly attended every first Saturday Rosary for Life Pilgrimage which prayed the repair of sins against life and the dignity of women as bearers of life. She was also an active member at the Madison Senior Center. Those who knew her well, would often see her walking on “her sidewalk” along Route 20. She would walk up to 5 miles a day. Another favorite pastime was making jams, jellies and breads for her family and friends. If you ever received a jar of jelly or a loaf of bread, you know how good a cook she really was.
Later in her retirement, she discovered the pleasure of reading her favorite authors, Ken Follett; David Baldacci and Lee Childs. She loved watching westerns and old movies because she loved “the clothes” the women wore. And, one of her greatest joys was spending time in her grandchildren Cole and Cassandra.
Survivors include: daughter, Pat (Bob) Rauth; granddaughter Lisa, daughter, Theresa (Russ) Thompson; granddaughters Tiffany and Erica, daughter Kathleen (Lou) Buty; granddaughter Gina and grandson Joseph; daughter K. Louise Harting, daughter Cynthia Walker, grandson, Cole Stuart and granddaughter Cassandra Ellen; daughter-in-law, Jacki Tyukody; sister Nancy DeSantis and sister-in-laws Eleanor DeSantis and Doris DeSantis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Tyukody and sons Jeffery Harrison Bargar and son, John Tyukody, Jr, her parents Joseph and Nancy (Gizzi) DeSantis; brothers Mario; Emilio; Quinto; Joseph, Patsy DeSantis; Robert DeSantis; Frank DeSantis; and sisters Pauline Johnson and Mary Belous.

My prayers are with all who loved her. I met Jeanette through my mom, who also attended the senior center. I loved Jeanette’s spark. One never had to guess about what was on her mind, a trait I very much appreciated. She gave me an angel with a bell for my wedding eight years ago, which ironically was March 7. It’s something I’ll always treasure, right along with the memories of the beautiful, spunky woman I was blessed to call friend.
