We sprouted potatoes in jars, made papier mâche piñatas, built a reading teepee, laughed about the predictable rooster next door, and even had a visit from her husband to teach us about science. She made our space warm and welcoming, and showed such patience and acute understanding to all of her students. The memories of that class, over 25 years ago have stuck with me because Janice was exceptional. I wish for strength and peace for her family as they grieve the loss of such an incredible woman.

There is comfort that can be found at Revelation 21:3,4, which says, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Soon, losses we sustain of any kind, be it the loss of a loved one or our peace of mind, will be done away with as if they never happened at all. I hope this promise can carry you through this difficult time and beyond.

  42. Our family is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of such a wonderful woman. Mrs. Cassidy made my daughter never want to leave kindergarten. We lived on the same road for many years and as Mrs. Cassidy was checking on Tayler throughout the years, Tayler was checking to see if she was in the front yard so she could yell hello. The love she had for her student kids was real and felt! 10 years later it was always still great to see her big smile and hear her laughter when seen around town. May God bring comfort and strength to your family as long as you may need it!

  43. Phil, Grace, Lydia and Jake, Janice was one of the most generous people I have ever know. I am so very proud and honored to have been a part of her life. I am heartbroken by the loss but am forever impacted by her wisdom.

  44. Mrs. Cassidy was my second grade teacher for the 1993-1994 school year. She was very encouraging, made me truly feel special and had a great laugh. That year she went on maternity leave and I remember actually feeling jealous! She shared her excitement with us about her new son, Jake, and even brought him in for a visit. In the many following years, she continued to be supportive by asking about my achievements at chance meetings with my mom around town. I say all of this to make the point that she made a lasting impression on me. Even as a 7 year old, I understood what a wonderful woman she was. My deepest sympathies to her family. May you find comfort in knowing how many lives she touched.

The time that she took that day ment so much to me. It made such a difference for Nathan. Mrs.Cassidy was Nathan's teacher that fall. He was excited to be in her class. She genuinely was always so positive and kind when she spoke. He loved being in her class. I know that she has touched many people and will be sadly missed.
