Janette Mocarski

Janette (Slanina) Mocarski, 87, of Perry Ohio (formerly of Willowick) passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024. She was born February 21, 1937 to William and Ann (Shayatobick) Slanina in Cleveland, Ohio. On November 25, 1961, Jan married the love of her life, Al Mocarski. They were happily married for 61 years until his death on January 25, 2023. Jan loved singing with Sweet Adelines and her church choir, dancing, socializing, gardening, vacation planning, the occasional gambling trip and most of all sharing her wisdom and life lessons with her children and grandchildren. She had an uncanny ability to share the proper thoughts at the opportune time that the receiver needed to hear. She had diverse jobs over her life from legal secretary to building administrator to office manager to librarian. She cared for and nurtured many pets throughout her life. Most of all she was a loving wife and proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Jan is survived by her sons, Steve (Debra), Rob (Patti) and Vic (Debbie); grandchildren Michael (Heather), Randy, Joshua, Amanda, Kristen, Tyler, and Ben; and great granddaughter Madison. She is preceded in death by her husband Al and her parents. Friends will be received from 4-7pm on Friday April 19, 2024 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at St. Cyprian Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road in Perry.
