Janet Sue ONeal (Chasser), 76, of Madison, Ohio, formerly of Warren, passed away peacefully August 29, 2018 at home, surrounded by family. She was born August 16, 1942 in Warren, Ohio to William and Verona (Coons) Chasser. She was the third in a line of nine children and always took it upon herself to care for her younger siblings. Janet attended Howland High School and transferred her senior year where she graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1960. Janet then started her family and went on to distinguish her creative talents in interior design. She was the lead designer for many years at Trumbull Furniture Showrooms and ultimately concluded her 40 year career as the head of the Ohio design team for Levin Furniture. One of Janets greatest joys was her time spent with family and friends at the family cottages in Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio. She was an excellent cook, cherished chatting with friends and family and, above all, she loved a good cup of tea and a great game of Scrabble. She married Patrick F. ONeal on August 16, 1997 at their lakefront home in Madison, OH. Over the years they enjoyed traveling, entertaining, throwing parties, and hosting weddings where she loved to spend countless hours planning and decorating for the occasions. Janet is survived by her husband; son, Paul David Salen (Eileen); daughter, Jennifer Myers; stepdaughter, Virginia George (John); stepsons, Kevin ONeal and Brian ONeal (Kika); 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Shelly Wardlaw, Sonia (Mike) Sams, Pam Smith; and 2 brothers, Donald Chasser (Karen) and Scott Chasser (Nova). She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Evelyn Hulick; and 2 brothers, Robert and Daniel Chasser. Friends will be received Monday, September 3, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Behm Family Funeral Home 26 River St. Madison, OH. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Rd. Madison, OH with Fr. Dennis McNeil as celebrant. Final resting place will be All Souls Cemetery, Cortland, OH. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the magnificent care provided by Hospice of the Western Reserve.
