April 8, 1937 ~ November 26, 2021

On November 26, 2021 our Lord and Savior called home His faithful servant, Janet (High) Lehmann, age 84, of Geneva. She passed away unexpectedly at Geauga Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her family. Janet was born in Cleveland on April 8, 1937 to Howard and Erla (nee High) High. She graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1955 and married Paul Lehmann on September 10, 1955. She worked many years as secretary at Rockwell, True Temper, Peoples Bank, Memorial Hospital of Geneva and lastly, part-time at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Geneva. She enjoyed sewing, being a member of Prayer Shawl Ministry at Geneva United Methodist Church and mostly, spending time with her family. Janet will be lovingly remembered as the heart and soul of her family, the baker of delicious birthday cakes, the hostess of family dinners, and the family seamstress. Her house was a place to gather; no one left hungry, empty handed, or without feeling loved. Janet also loved spending time with her friends. She enjoyed going out to lunch, knitting, and planning her class reunions. She will be missed greatly by her husband of 66 years, Paul; daughter and son-in-law Joanne (Scott) DeShetler, daughter and son-in-law, Diane (Lou) Gruber; granddaughters, Rachel (Caleb) Schwieterman, Cassie (Mike) French, grandson, Jacob Gruber, granddaughters Ashley and Hayley DeShetler; great-granddaughters, Mallory and Harper French; great-grandson, Camden Schwieterman; sister-in-law, Phyllis High; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Faith (in infancy), Doris (Cliff) Taft; brothers, H. Bruce (Annabelle) High and Clinton High; step-father, Forrest Smith; in-laws, Paul and Martha Lehmann and Dale Lehmann. Family and friends will be received 10-11 A.M., December 4, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Geneva, with a funeral service following at 11 A.M. with Pastor Jonathan Schroeder presiding. Final resting place will be Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva. Tea, coffee and pastries will be served during the visitation hour. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Preschool, P.O.
