James “Rudy” Rudesill passed away suddenly on May 2, 2026.Was born on September 17, 1949, he was born in Warren, Ohio, to Glenn and Bessie Rudesill.

Rudy worked as a military officer in the Air Force for the majority of his life and was very devoted to his country. He enjoyed going out to golf, driving the employees at Walmart crazy, and bopping his grandkids on the head whenever he got the chance to do so. He was known to dress up and play Santa Clause every Christmas. He also liked to camp, fish, and go out to eat. Singing all music especially the gospel with his group the Gospel Friends. He enjoyed Saturday Morning breakfast at Stockers restaurant with his church friends and helping out with youth group at his church. He loved Jesus, and love to spread the word of God through conversation and music. He especially loved the time he was able to spend with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Rudesill; children, James Jr (Ros). “Rudy” Rudesill, Jarrod Rudesill, Michael (Jillian) Rudesill Tina (Dominick) Cox. Stepchildren; Melissa (Jack) Arnold, Travis Cantrell, Shelley (Chad ) Chass Clint (Crystal) Cantrell; Grandchildren, Dominick jr Cox, Anthony Johns, Jarrod Johns, Samantha Rudesill, Brandon Rudesill, Toby Rudesill, Alyssa Bojarski, Hannah Bojarski, Anna Chass, Chelsea Cantrell, Jacob Cantrell, Caleb Cantrell, Madelyn Kocevar, Lexi Kocevar, Rachelle Ramero, Heather Anderson, Molly Anderson, Colton Cantrell, Derek Cantrell, Carysa Cantrell, Elias Rudesill, Micheal Romero, Diamond Romero, Breonna Maynard. Great grandchildren; Anthony Johns Jr, Ensley Johns, Roy Hamilton, Lainee Hamilton; the best baby brother ever, John (Della) “Rudy” Rudesill; Sister, Mary (Dennis) Joyce Webb; and best big sister-in-law ever, Linda (Don Ryan) Duke.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

His celebration of life will be May 16th at 6758 Madison rd, Thompson Oh 44086 from 12-3pm.
