James R Kane

James R. Kane, age 75, of Madison, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at David Simpson Hospice House in Euclid, OH. Born June 3, 1939 in Cleveland, the son of John G. and Coletta (McGrath) Kane. A graduate of St. Joseph's High School, he retired from the Lake County Sheriff Dept. in 2004 and worked with Wickliffe Auxiliary Police for 33 ½ years. While raising his family in Wickliffe, he was coach for softball and soccer teams for his children.. Beloved husband of Suzanne K. Kane; father of James (Cristina) of Los Angeles, CA, David (Shelley) of Mentor, and Suzanne M. (Keith) Kane-Whitaker of San Francisco; CA; step-father of Dennis (Toni) Gerhardinger of Oberlin and Pamela Gregory of Elyria; loving grandfather of Ashley M. and Kristina M. Kane, Ava M. Whitaker, Jeremy and Jessica Gerhardinger, Emma and Hayley Gregory; brother, John G. (Patricia) Kane and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 2-6 p.m., Sunday, June 29, 2014 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. Family and friends will meet at St. Gabriel Parish, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Rd., Concord, OH at 10:00 am, Monday June 30, 2014 for the Mass of Christian Burial.
