James "Jim" Bevan
September 13, 1935 ~ July 26, 2015
MADISON- James "Jim" Bevan, 79, of Madison, passed away July 26, 2015.
He was born September 13, 1935, in Painesville, Ohio the son of William C. and Myrtle (VanGorder) Bevan, and had been a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Bevan was a US Army Veteran. Jim married the love of his life Joyce Shumaker in Angola, Indiana on September 10, 1956. Jim worked at Harvey Hubbell and retired as an engineer at Steris Company.
Jim was an avid coin collector and was very diligent in keeping to his daily routine of visiting the library and the supermarket. He was also a member of the Madison American Legion.
Jim is survived by his children, James Bevan of Kentucky, Jerry (Tammy) Bevan, Judy (Jim) Pristov, and Jack (Tammy) Bevan all of Madison; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Bevan on April 25, 2009; brothers, William and Raymond Bevan; and sister, Nancy Diamond.
A memorial service will be held, Friday, July 31, 2015 at 4PM at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison with Rev. Larry Wade officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 until the time of service at 4.
