James Ernest Carson

James "Jim" Ernest Carson, age 70 of Madison, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 at his home. Born on August 4, 1953 in Pittsburgh, PA he was the son of the late William F. Carson and Grace A. (Beward) Carson.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Heather M. (Joseph) Fortney; grandsons, Austin C. Fortney and Luke J. Fortney; brother, William Carson; sisters, Carol Metrovich, Nancy (Thomas) Frederick Knott, Beverly (Clarke) Mangan, Susan (Jay) Swoager, Janet (Carl Smith) Wessel and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Joe Metrovich.
Jim worked as a Mechanical Planner at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant before retiring in 2019. His grandsons meant the world to him and he cherished the time he spent with them. Jim will be missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, including his lifelong Bethel Park buddies and the cabin girls.
Friends and family will be received from 4:00 to 6:00pm on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. A Memorial Service for Jim will take place at the funeral home at 6:00pm. Online obituary and guestbook at behmfuneral.com

It was with sadness that I heard of Jim’s passing. Too soon for such a kind man. I truly enjoyed working with Jim in planning. He always had a friendly smile and was willing to help me when I needed something.
