James Edward Bevan

James Edward Bevan, age 58 of Lexington, KY., passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 in Lawrenburg, IN. James was resident of Madison until he moved to Kentucky eight years ago. Born April 30, 1957 in Painesville, OH, he was the son of James Dale and Joyce Bevan (ne Shumaker). A 1975 graduate of Madison High School James joined the US Army and served from 1975 to 1979. He was a long time member of the American Legion Jay Wilson Post 112 in Madison. He worked as a Precast Laborer at R.W. Sidley for many years. He was recently employed by Amazon as a Returns Specialist. James loved to grill and he was known for his sense of humor and his love of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns and Indians. James is survived by his sons: James Bevan of Columbus, Daniel Bevan of Lexington, KY and Nathaniel Bevan of Port Clinton, OH, his nine grandchildren, his brothers Gerald and Jack Bevan, and sister Judy Pristov all of Madison, OH. Full Military Honors will be observed at 1:30 pm on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Jay Wilson American Legion Post 112, 6671 Middle Ridge Road, Madison. Friends and family are welcome to a reception that will take place at the Legion following the service.
