James Buddy East, 80, passed away Saturday morning, July 1, 2017, at Rae-Anns in Geneva. He was born to James and Ruby (Moore) East on Feb. 10, 1937 in Weyanoke, West Virginia. Buddy married the love of his life, Gayle Bailey, in Matoaka WV in August of 1962. After graduating high school, Buddy enlisted in the Air Force and served his country faithfully. When he came back home, he worked with General Motors at the Fisher Body assembly plant in Euclid, Oh. He retired after 30 years of dedicated service. Bud didnt talk often, but when he did, you listened. He was very easy going and loving, but never a push-over. He was great at golfing, bowling and baseball. When Fisher Body changed its production from body assembly to interior seat and door panel production, Buddy took to sewing, and became a fantastic upholsterer, even after retirement. Buddy leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Gayle; daughter, Kimberly (Randy) Hess; grandchildren Alicia (Terrance) Radcliffe, Bethany Hess; great grandchildren Kaleb Hess and Owen Radcliffe. He is predeceased by his daughter Tammy Sue East; parents; sister, Beulah Dean Slemp; brother, Curtis East. Friends may call 4-8pm Thursday July 6, 2017 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, OH 44057. Funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Mike Haury at 11am Friday July 7, 2017 at the funeral home. Buds family suggests charitable donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Cleveland Area Chapter, P.O. Box 74924 Cleveland OH 44194-4924. Buds final resting place will be in Princeton, West Virginia.
