Jacqueline M. Cimorelli Age 65 Resident of Greensboro, North Carolina Passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC Born May 29, 1943 in Geneva, Ohio to Elizabeth "Betty" (Spinelli) & Frank A. Cimorelli Occupation: Professor at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, NC retiring in 2005. Memberships and Affiliations: She received a Ph.D. from Penn State University and joined the faculty of Communication Sciences and Disorders in 1977 at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro . She served as Department Head from 1992 to 2002 before her retirement in 2005. She authored Language Therapy a Complete Cognitive Therapy Program and was co-author of two significant U.S. Department of Education Grants among many other publications and accomplishments. Widely regarded as a master teacher and champion of both students and faculty, she influenced the discipline of speech language pathology on state and national levels. . She was recently invited to Oxford University in England to present a paper. She loved being an Educator and her students were an important part of her life. She is survived by Mother, Elizabeth ?Betty? Cimorelli of Geneva Brother Frankie (Michelle) Cimorelli of Prescott, AZ Nephew Christopher Cimorelli of Scottsdale, AZ Many cousins including Randi Voekel, Rayna O?Hara, Sandra Orlando, Jim Spinelli, Teresa Demer, Tara Lamb, Dana Cimorell, Victor Allen Cimorell, Frank & Nick Vilagi, Sam Spinelli, Ellie Galvin, their spouses, families and other cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank A. Cimorelli A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 13, 2009 at 3:30 at the Virginia Dare Room of the Alumni House at 404 College Ave., Greensboro, NC 27402 on the campus of UNCG. Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 West Main Street, Geneva, Ohio. Officiating will be Fr. John Mulqueen. Final Resting Place will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to University of North Carolina-Greensboro, The Dr. Jacqueline M. Cimorelli Scholarship in Communication Science and Disorders, Attn: Sharon Storm Brown, 430 HHP Bldg., P. O. Box 26170, Greensboro, NC 27402-6170.
