Jack H. Bell, of Madison, Ohio passed away on June 15, 2026 at the age of 90. While we grieve the loss of an incredible father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, we take solace in the beautiful thought of him walking hand-in-hand with his wife, Ruth, once again. He was born on June 6, 1936 in Jeffrey, West Virginia to Brookie (Pauley) and Scott Bell. He married the love of his life, Ruth (Stoker) on April 20, 1959 in Lawton Oklahoma.

Jack was a proud US Army Veteran and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8548, representing the Color Guard of Madison, as well as a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Grand River Lodge #57 in Madison. He was employed by R. B. & W for 35 years and for Anchor Fastener for 10 years, prior to retiring from ITW. He was one of the founders of the Madison Softball League. Jack enjoyed hunting and gardening in his spare time, but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was his grandchildren’s biggest supporter, watching them compete and perform.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline (Craig) Berry; grandchildren Tyler Berry, Alexandra (Zak Wolfe) Berry; and brother, Larry Bell, many loving nieces and nephews, as well as grandnieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, of 44 years; parents; sisters, Frances Powers, Dolores (Charles) Javins, Phyllis (Jim) Blakenship; brothers, G.L. “Ginky” Bell, Don Bell.

Guestbook

  1. I will miss hearing all the stories. I miss hearing about coaching our baseball team. And hearing about how proud he was being a dad and Grandpa.

  2. Dear Jack,
Couple summers ago you sat on my patio for over 3 hours to talk. You told me the story of the three Bells. That was a great story! You went on to tell me more about Ruth and I could hear the love in your voice.
We got on the subject of wildlife and agreed there haven’t been many turkey around in some time. Well, Wednesday morning I looked outside and near the woods, was a turkey.
God Bless you Jack! We will never forget you.

    With our sympathies,
    Tobin, Sherry, Franky and Celia.
