Jack Acord

Jack Acord, age 84 of Madison, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at UH Geauga Medical Center. Born July 13, 1929 in Sabine, WV he was the son of Everett and Pearl (Cook) Acord. He married Hallie Sizemore on October 19, 1953 in West Virginia. After high school Jack served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a welder for the Lintern Corporation in Mentor. A passionate sports fan he loved watching a good game. As an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed training his dogs for the hunt and fishing. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 60years Hallie; his daughters: Donna (Phil) Watson of Ravenna, Patricia (Dave) Welch of Madison, and Jackie (John) Spaid of Madison; 5 grandchildren: Amy, Carley, Greg, Rachel, and Chase; great grandson Aiden; 2 sisters: Joy (Al) Lester of Medford, OR, Trescia (Paul) Poling of Geneva; 2 brothers: Dale (Arlene) Acord of Lakeland, FL and Tracy (Josie) Acord of Hopewell, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Pearl, brothers: Robert Lee and Freeman Acord and his sister Lottie Marie "Sis" Cook.
