Howard John (Stanky) Rinkes
October 19, 1955 ~ February 16, 2024
Howard John (Stanky) Rinkes, 68 of Painesville passed away on Friday, February 16th, 2024 at Heather Hill Care Communities in Chardon, OH. Born on October 19th, 1955 he was the first son of Virginia (Hamilton) and Edward Rinkes. After high school he went on to join the United States Navy, and shortly thereafter started a family.
An avid motorcycle rider and loved by many in the community, he went on to serve as long time committee member and vending coordinator of the “Louie Run”, a once small event started to honor a late friend, turned into a several thousand people rally known as the start to Ohio’s motorcycle season.
“Stanky” was known for his raunchy sense of humor, watching nascar, listening to rock ‘n’ roll music, his stellar air guitar skills and spending time with many loved ones.
He leaves behind his 3 daughters, Alicia Morris, Crystal Rinkes, Hilary Rinkes; Brothers, Edward Rinkes, Robert(Gladys) Rinkes, Donn (Janet Jelenic) Rinkes; Sister, Lori (Brian) Madsen; grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Hunter, Allyson, Caitlynn, Jacalynn, and Raelynn; nieces, Chelsea, Kaleigh, and Emily Longtime Best Friend, Valarie Thornton; As well as many longtime “brothers” and “sisters”.
He was preceded in death by his only Son, William John “Billy” Rinkes; Mother, Virginia Hamilton, and Father, Edward Rinkes.
Friends will be received 6-8 pm Tuesday March 12th, 2024 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Heather Hill and Bella Care Hospice of Ashtabula for their wonderful care.
