Helen L. Tatar

Helen L. Tatar, age 89, a resident of Perry, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord. She was born June 13, 1924 in Fairmont, WV to Charles and Mary Gouzd. She married Joseph Tatar on January 6, 1945 in Mannington, WV. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a master quilter, and loved gardening. Survivors are daughters, Linda (Chuck) Metcalf of Eastlake, Amy (Chuck) Tilly of Flagstaff, AZ; sons, Philip (Page) Tatar of Centennial, CO, David (Margie) Tatar of Perry; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Manchin, Ann Pollock; brothers, Joe (Carol) Gouzd and Bob (Beverly) Gouzd all of WV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; parents; brothers, Karl Gouzd, John Gouzd and sister, Frances Baker. Friends will be received 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27th at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road, Perry, OH 44081. Final Resting Place will be Perry Cemetery in Perry.
