Helen Yelcho Covell, age 81, of Geneva passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 28, 1934 to Frances (Carlin) and Jacob Yelcho. Helen married Donald R. Covell in Cleveland on December 28, 1957. Helen's life revolved around her family and friends. She loved traveling with her husband around the country, Australia and Europe, vacationing with her family and spending her Summer's at Kenisee campgrounds. Helen looked forward to luncheons with her retiree and bridge club friends. She enjoyed going to Playhouse Square, art museums, and botanical gardens. Her hobbies included sewing, crafts and cooking. Helen was a loving generous person and cherished her time with grandchildren. She was a former Licensed Practical Nurse and a retiree from First Energy. Helen is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald R. Covell; children, Mary K. (John) Mattern, Barbara Covell, Carol (Nick) Carlisle, Patricia (Brian) Warring, Robert (Paula) Covell, Christine (Fred) Kisiday, Donald J. (Veneta) Covell, Kara (Kim) Calhoon; 26 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and her sister, Sister Mary Jacob (Ruth). She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John and Robert Yelcho. Friends will be received Friday, May 13, 2016 from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway, Geneva, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 W. Main Street, Geneva. Rev. Fr. Robert Lanterman will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Thompson, OH. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis TN 38101-9908 and Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. I have so many wonderful memories of Mrs. C from all the camp outs, canoe trips and other River Rat outings, and in the last few years it was great catching up with her and Mr. C at Kenisee and watching her tool around in the golf cart or win at Bingo.   7. I am so sorry for your loss a few scriptures that comforted me when I lost a loved one was Plasms 55:22 which shows that God will help you get through this hard time and Isaiah 26:19 which gives us a hope for our loved ones who have passed away.
