Helen Allchin Armstrong

Helen Allchin Armstrong, age 101, of Ft. Myers, Florida, formerly of Lake County, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at Shell Point Village Nursing Home in Ft. Myers. She was born March 31, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Zilpha M. (Kellogg) and Harry Allchin. She married Vernon Guy Armstrong on July 29, 1938 in Mentor, Ohio. Helen was a Mentor High Class of 1934 graduate as well as a graduate of Andrews School in 1936. She enjoyed giving of her time which included volunteering at Lake East Hospital for 10 years. She is survived by daughter, Judith A. Dilcher; sisters, Betty Linsz, Edna Edwards; brother Thomas Allchin; grandchildren, Stacey Norman, Jason Armstrong, Jeffery, Michael, and Timothy Dilcher; great-grandchildren, Emma Norman and Zachary Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Guy Armstrong; son, Edward Guy Armstrong; her parents; and brother, Richard Allchin. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Leroy Township – North-East Cemetery, at the corner intersect of Ford Rd. and Trask Rd.
