Hazel Arlene Wolcott, age 93, of Geneva, passed away February 18, 2011, at Jefferson Health Care Facility, where she lived since 2009. She was born August 16, 1917 in Geneva, Ohio, where she lived most all her life. She was the daughter of Herschel & Marjorie (Gates) Barnard. Mrs. Wolcott graduated from Geneva High School in 1935 and was a life time member of the Geneva First United Methodist Church. She married the late Hidley F. Wolcott, October 30, 1937 and had two sons. She held many positions within the church, Secretary of Sunday School, Commission on Education, Bible study classes, nursing home ministry, steward and was a faithful member of the Miriam-Esther Circle. She also spent many years as an auxiliary volunteer at the Geneva Memorial hospital. Mrs. Wolcott was one of the founders of the Geneva band boosters, and helped organize the band trip to Washington, DC to march in the Cherry Blossom Festival in 1954 She spent her life helping others and especially enjoyed her boys, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her family, many friends, cooking, bird watching, traveling, playing cards, cribbage and dancing. She will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her generosity and loving heart will never be forgotten. She will be dearly missed by all! Her survivors include one son, Terry (Dianne) Wolcott of Jefferson; a sister-in-law, Rita Barnard of Columbia Station, Ohio; 1 grandson, Robert (Karen) Wolcott of Geneva; 5 granddaughters, Trisha (Ralph) Joslin of Kingsville, Tonya (David) Robinson of N. Madison, Tiffany (David) Phipps of Madison, Tabitha (Adam) Litke of Jefferson, Mary Jo ?Tracy? (John) Smith of Ashtabula; six great-grandsons, Barry ?Scooter?, Brandon, Ryan, Joshua, Coleton, Sawyer and Zane due on May 7th; 7 great-granddaughters, Miann, Joyous, Mikki, Meredith, Hallie, Brenna, Madelynn; great-great-grandson, Emery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hidley in 1993; son, Barry in 2007; brother, Dean in 1985. Friends will be received 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, Monday, February 21, 2011 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 175 South Broadway, Geneva, Ohio. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the funeral home.
