Harold D Carcell

Harold D. Carcell, age 82, a lifelong resident of Geneva, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 4th , 2012, at Geneva Shores Nursing Home, surrounded by his family. Harold was born on Feb. 16, 1930. He was the son of the late John and Edith (Case) Carcell. On July 18, 1959, he was married to Carolyn Jean Anthony in Geneva. Harold proudly worked for Geneva True Temper for 35 years and was a faithful member of The Geneva United Church. Harold enjoyed spending time outdoors in his garden, watching westerns, and boxing. Harold could always be found fixing bicycles and caring for his animals. A devoted family man, he always enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include children, Douglas (Debra) Carcell of Conneaut OH., Harold David (Pat) Carcell, Anthony (Karen) Carcell and Catherine Sickles (Matt), all of Geneva; grandchildren, Crystal, Jeffrey, Rachel and Ruth Lynn Carcell, Destiny Sickles and Rebecca McCauley; great-grandchildren, Conner and Carson Carcell and Emma and Leah McCauley; Sister, Joan Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life and wife of 52 years , Carol Jean Carcell; sisters, Mary Carcell Varsetti, Evelyn Carcell Brooks, Roberta Carcell Turner and brother John Carcell Jr. Friends will be received 10-11 AM, Saturday, July 7, 2012 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway, Geneva, Ohio. Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM., Rev. Bruce Hitchcock, of The First United Methodist Church in Geneva, officiating. Contributions may be made to the family, in care of Behm Family Funeral Home. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Geneva Shores, Harbor Light Hospice, and all family and friends that have provided support and care during this difficult time.
