Greg A. Brannon
April 22, 1949 ~ October 6, 2023
Greg A. Brannon, age 74, passed away while at home, October 6, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Huntington, West Virginia, he later moved to Ohio and was a graduate from Ledgemont High School in Thompson, Ohio.
He was a retired general manager from Gulf Coast Truck and Equipment and retired in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Gregory proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam war. He was awarded the purple heart twice, the national defense service medal and the Vietnam service medal. Gregory enjoyed following his son’s sporting events, golfing, fishing in Gulf Shores, Alabama and would make special trips to support his grandchildren in their sporting events.
He leaves behind his son, Daniel (Ginger) Brannon; grandchildren, Cory (Cassie) Brannon and Marissa Brannon (Aaron Yerman); his aunt, Suzanne Martens; and close friend, Kimberly Hutchinson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lila Brannon and grandparents, Rymer and Audrey Brannon.
Friends will be received 5-8pm, Monday, October 16, 2023, at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio. A Military Honor Guard and rifle salute will begin the visitation promptly at 5pm.
Contributions may be made in Greg’s name to the Leroy VFW 7939 Building Fund for Handicapped Accessibility, 12827 Painesville-Warren Road, Painesville, OH 44077.
