Grace Burnita Sample, 92 of Madison, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, February 17, 2017. She passed away in Springdale, Arkansas surrounded by her family. She was born to Emma Lucille Sutliff on March 29, 1924 in Conneautville, PA at the Sutliff home. John and Burnita Sample moved to Madison in 1952 where they raised four children. She worked as the secretary to the Superintendent of Schools in Madison for many years and retired from that position. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, and exercising with many precious friends at the YMCA. In 1999, she met and married Bob Houston and was blessed with 10 wonderful years of companionship. During her last years, she was a member of Tri-County Bible Church where she was honored to meet and fellowship with so many of God's people. Burnita is survived by daughters, Jan (Jerry) Boseman of Springdale, AR, Joan (John) Lightner of Jefferson; son, Jim (Terrie) Sample of Geneva; daughter-in-law, Sarah Sample of Madison; step-daughter Kathy (Jeff) Gephart of Waterloo, NY; 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma L. and Ernest C. Acker; husbands, John E. Sample and Robert F. Houston; son, John D. Sample; and step-daughter, Carol Atkinson. Friends and family will be received from 5-8pm on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Funeral Service will take place at 11am on Friday February 24, 2017 at Tri-County Bible Church, 2946 Burns Road in Madison. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Madison Village. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Burnita's name to Tri-County Bible Church in Madison, OH or Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
