Gordon L. Allen, Age 76, of Perry, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at home.
Born October 3, 1935 in Mayfield Heights to Christine (Bain) & Elmer Lee Allen; he married Elizabeth Koppa in Angola, IN in 1958.
Gordon was the Owner/Operator of the Painesville Speedway. He was a Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was an avid fisherman of the water of N.E. Georgian Bay (Canada). He piloted the #90 Chevrolet to four Figure 8 Division championships at Painesville Speedway, in the 1980's. He was also an inventor with patents and fabricator. He could fix and make better most everything he touched. He also built his homemade car and fishing boat and enjoyed them for over three decades.
He is survived by Wife or 53 years, Elizabeth Allen of Perry; Daughter, Dana Allen of Perry; Son, Mark (Karen) Allen of Madison; Grandchildren, Seth, Chad & Jerrica Scott; Great-Grandchildren, Sydney & Lucas Scott; Sister, Faye (Roy) Keller of Hartville; Nieces, Rose (Bob) Garsteck of Seven Hills; Donna (Bob) Manjura of Parma; Great-Nieces, Halley, Kelsey & Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Glenna (Jerry) Tokman.
