Glenn Hollis Rayl, 86, of Thompson, passed away August 11, 2016 at UH-Geauga Hospital.
He was born February 13, 1930 in Greenville, Pennsylvania the son of the late Hollis and Grace (Leininger) Rayl. Glenn retired from R.W. Sidley in 1995 after 43 years as an Operating Engineer (Local 18) and Precast Manager and was well-known as one of Northeast Ohio's finest crane operators. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also held a private, single engine Pilot's License. Glenn enjoyed caring for his lawn, growing vegetables, and taking country drives and "One Tank Trips" to enjoy nature's beauty. He paid very close attention to local and national weather as an amateur Meteorologist.
Mr. Rayl is survived by his sons, Timothy of Seattle and Terrence of Chardon; granddaughters, Taylor and Haley and daughter-in-law Joanne (Rayl) Moneda, all of Seattle; and fianc, Carol Sidley. He was preceded in death by his wife Marlene (Daniels) Rayl in 2005; his son, Ted Rayl in 2012; his brother, Donald and his wife Alice; and his parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Thompson United Methodist Church (6758 Madison Rd. Thompson, OH 44086). Calling hours will be held from 12 noon until the time of services at 1 p.m., followed by lunch. Final resting place will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Tim and Terry, Our deepest sympathy to you in the loss of your father. He is now united again with Aunt Marlene and brother Ted. Your dad was always so kind in visiting mom when she was sick.
