Glenda Ann (Eckley) Hurst
September 17, 1931 ~ July 25, 2011
Glenda Ann Hurst (Eckley) passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011 after a lengthy and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Glenda was a longtime resident of Thompson, Ohio and greatly enjoyed spending time with her Bingo buddies at Ledgemont High School. She spent her entire working career at Chardon Rubber Corporation in Chardon, Ohio.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Glenda now joins James (Jimmy) and is at peace in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. She was also preceded by her parents Raymond and Audrey Eckley, and brothers Homer and Ray Eckley.
Celebrating Glenda's life are her sister Ellen (Raymond) Everhart, brother Larry Eckley and special niece Barbara Eckley, all of the Jewett/Cadiz, Ohio area. Remembering her with love are her children: Richard (Faith) Hurst of Defiance, Ohio, Eliza (Steve) Selzler of Fargo, ND, Mary (Bob) Carrabine of Little River, SC and Karen (Dale) Moseley of Hudson. Remembering her with joy are her grandchildren: Jenny (Bruce) Blumhagen, Stephanie (Chris) Saunders, Candy (Bob) Griesmer, Erin Carrabine, Robert Carrabine, Kati (Michael) Daltorio, Rachael (Rich Hines) Geddes, Sarah Moseley, Kyle (Brittany) Hurst, Philip Moseley, Solomon Hurst and Zach Hurst. Great grandchildren Allison, Taylor, Megan, Michael, Matthew, Zane, Ian, Jackson, Silvia and Miles were always received with hugs?. Numerous other family and friends will miss Glenda's faithful friendship.
Calling hours will be 6-8 pm, Friday July 29, 2011, at the Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. A brief funeral service will be held at 10 am, Saturday, July 30, 2011, at the funeral home. Final resting place will be Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson.
