Gerald E. Jones

Gerald E. Jones, age 86, of Madison passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at his home. He was born June 8, 1929 in Hydetown, PA to Persis (nee Bunce) and Lawrence Jones. He married the love of his life Mary Mae Marquand. A 1947 graduate of Madison High School, he served in the US Air Force serving his country during the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged in 1954. Gerald was an active member of Bible Baptist Church, where he served as past Deacon, past leader of the Awanas Club, as well as singing in the church choir, and the softball team. Gerald enjoyed bowling golfing, fishing, and camping, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Gerald is survived by sons, Wayne (Marybeth) Jones of Midland, MI, Lawrence (Theresa) Jones of Madison, Michael (Kim) Jones of Cantonmet, FL; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Janet) Jones of Williamsburg, VA; sister, Alice (Howard) Davisson of Vermillion, OH and brother-in-law, Karl Richmond of Ocala, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mae Jones; parents, and sister, Margaret Richmond. Friends will be received from 6-8 P.M., Monday, August 24th at BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 25th at Bible Baptist Church, 5819 W. Chapel Rd., Madison with Pastor Mike Edwards, officiating. Final resting place will be at Knollwood Cemetery.
