Georgianne B. Stambauch

January 9, 1942 ~ January 26, 2017
Georgianne B. Stambaugh, age 75, of Toledo and formerly of Madison, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home in Toledo on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017. She was born on January 9, 1942 to George E. and Anne G. (Barnes) Breyley in Cleveland. She was a graduate of Eastlake North High School and held several jobs in the field of accounting, including Higbees Department Store and First Energy at The Perry Nuclear Power Plant. Her "retirement job" was selling jewelry at Kaufman's Department Store at The Great Lakes Mall in Mentor. Georgianne was an avid reader who always had her nose in a book, and could be often found at the local library either working or searching for her next novel. She also enjoyed quilt making, and always insisted on hand quilting. She felt that to use a machine was not "true quilting". She also loved to travel, and took many trips with friends and family. Georigianne was a member of several professional and social organizations including the International Association of Administrative Assistants, the National Quilters Society, and the Beta Signa Phi Sorority. She volunteered her time for the Friends of the Madison Library and the Madison Food Center, and was a member at both Chapel United Methodist Church and Central United Congregational Church in Madison. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Richard G. Stambaugh; children, Andrew W. Stambaugh, Anne E. Passuello; grandson, Nathan R. Passuello; sister, Margery (Woodrow) Simpson; brother, James (Bonita) Breyley; several special cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents and her sister, Nancy. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Alzheimers and Dementia Care Services of Toledo, 2500 N. Reynolds Rd, Toledo, Ohio 43615. The family will receive guests on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 from 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Services at 11 a.m. at Behm Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio 44057 with Pastor Rick Hughes officiating. The family would like to thank the entire team at Promedica Hospice for the superb care that they provided as well as Georgianne's special caregivers, Darla, Melanie, and Nancy.
