George W. Rimes
December 2, 1939 ~ November 13, 2022
George W. Rimes, passed away November 13, 2022 at the age of 82 years old. George was born December 2, 1939 in Painesville, Ohio to William G. and Annabelle L. Rimes. He was preceded in death by his brother Johnathan E. Rimes and is survived by sisters, Pamela Miller of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Susan Kelly of El Paso, Texas.
George is also survived by his wife of 61 years, Penny Rimes of Chardon, Ohio; two sons, William G. (Marina) of Madison, Ohio and Phillip L. of Mission, Texas; grandson, George W. (Sara) of Willoughby, Ohio.
George went to school in Chardon, followed by working for over 45 years for the family trucking companies, Rimes Trucking and G&W Cartage, in various positions. In his “Golden years” he became a charter boat captain and created Gremlin Charters running walleye charters on Lake Erie. He spent many of his final years enjoying golf and living in Mission, Texas before finally returning to Chardon for his last few months.
