Gayland Leroy Moyers, age 94 of Geneva, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026 at Jefferson Healthcare. He was born December 4, 1931 in Moyers, WV, the son of Edith (Simmons) and Jesse Moyers, Sr. He married Alma Nadine Murphy on May 26, 1956 in Winchester, VA.

Upon moving to Ohio in 1950, Gayland worked at the Rayon for 15 years and then retired in 1993 from Lubrizol as a Chemical Operator. He enjoyed hunting trips, especially back to West Virginia with his sons, grandsons, brothers, cousins and friends. He also loved fishing trips to the West Virginia streams and Canadian lakes with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Alma “Nadine” Moyers; children, Donna (David) Thompson, Greg (LaDonna) Moyers, Dale Moyers; grandchildren, Dave (JoAnne), Travis (Melinda), Thara, Amber, Rece (Leah); great-grandchildren, David (Katlynn), Garrett, Avery, Amaya, Freyja, and Derek; great-great-granddaughter, Paisley; brother, Jesse (Martha) Moyers, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Allen Moyers; brothers, Elmer and Virgil; sister, Betty Matthews.

Friends and family will be received from 9:00 to 11:00am on Friday, June 19, 2026 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Cemetery on Arcola Road in Madison. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in Gayland’s name to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association. Online obituary may be found at www.behmfuneral.com
