Gabriel Pizzuto, age 86 of Geneva, passed away on Friday July 14, 2017 at Ashtabula County Nursing Home. Born August 29, 1930 in Ashtabula, he was the son of the late Santos Sam and Mary (Noce) Pizzuto. He married Isabel Rowan on May 5, 1951 in Cleveland. A 1948 graduate of Ashtabula High School, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated a City Service Gas Station in Ashtabula with his brother, Anthony. He worked at Union Carbide for many years before retiring in 1991. He was actively involved in the lives of his children and served as the President of both the Geneva Little League, and the Geneva Athletic Boosters. Gabe served as Harpersfield Zoning Inspector and enjoyed building dollhouses and miniatures as well as meeting with classmates and retirees. Gabe is survived by his daughters: Marjorie (Joel) Morris of Sanford, NC and Cynthia Pizzuto of Streetsboro; sons: Edward (Cynthia) Pizzuto of Austinburg, and Gregory (Carolyn) Pizzuto of Abingdon, MD; 3 grandchildren: Travis, Ashley (Ben) Finney and Robert; 2 great grandsons: Sam Michael Pizzuto and Declan Emerson Finney; brother: Anthony Pizzuto of Kingsville; sisters: Anne (Bob) Frisbie of Ashtabula, and Virginia (Jack) Ogren of Sharon, New Hampshire. He will be joining his beautiful wife, Isabel in Heaven along with his parents. Friends and family will be received from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway in Geneva. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 West Main Street in Geneva. Fr. Daniel Finnerty will officiate the service. Final resting place will be at Harpersfield Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Bella Care Hospice, 1933 State Route 45, Austinburg, OH 44010.
