“I love God, I’m good with God, and we have a good thing going!”- words spoken by Gabe to his mom and dad just a few days ago. Gabriel "Gabe" John Paul, age 18, senior at Madison High School, passed away from an epileptic seizure in his sleep on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Born on October 6, 2003 in Geauga County, he was the son of John and DeeDee (Duffy) Paul.
Gabe was well loved by his family and friends. He was a member of the National Honors Society, ran Cross Country and was a pole vaulter on the track team. Gabe was truly a gentleman farmer, raising chickens and pigs while participating in 4-H “Little Porkers of Geauga County.” A huge fan of country music, he loved all the country classics. He was an avid downhill snow skier. His true passion was racing his four wheeler in the AWRCS Racing Series. He was a talented mechanic and enjoyed spending time in the garage.
He is survived by his loving parents, John and DeeDee; grandparents, Ron and Joanne Paul; several aunts and uncles, Kathy and Dan Stenger, Kim and Joseph Kerns, Ron and Debi Paul, Drs. Daniel and Deborah Duffy, Dr. Cecilia A. Duffy, and Deb and Raymond Bell along with many cousins, close friends and his AWRCS family. Gabe was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dr. Daniel and Cecilia Duffy.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00am on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Cornerstone Friends Church, 2300 Hubbard Road in Madison. Burial will immediately follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson.

I only met Gabe a few times but heard lots of positive comments about the animals he exhibited at the fair, the ATV races which he competed in, and what a good worker he was. Another life gone too soon. Heart felt sympathy and prayers for healing for all the family.

i remember when me, gabe and kip were in the bathroom together and kip had to use the bathroom so he went in the stall and he started grunting and makin wierd noises in there about his poop and the school resource officer was in there the whole time and me and gave just stared at eachother and kept laughing and we didn’t tell kip the whole time, until gabe looked over at kip and said “uh kip caswells in here” and kip yelled “omg caswell i drank too much coffee” and we and gabe almost peed ourselves in the bathroom, condolences to gabe’s family he’s loved and will truly be missed.

😭 I will never forget the time Gabe gave me a tow back home because of my busted ass Ford broke down and he was so thrilled to get a picture of a chevy towin a Ford while we were in the process of trying to get it back home we snapped the tow rope thank God we got it there just in time well… we had to push the truck a couple of yards but we managed to make it work 😂 I’ll never forget that moment he’s a very strong young man I gave him a handshake and a hug that day it was the very first and last I’ve seen him I wish I could’ve had spoken to him one more time before he had to go I love you buddy 😔 I wish a had the photo that he took that day.
