Frederick "Dan" Daniel Frazier Jr.

Frederick Daniel Frazier Jr. “Dan”, age 90, of Painesville, Ohio, passed away October 30, 2024 at David Simpson Hospice. He was born March 31, 1934 in Charleston, WV to Wilma (Canterbury) and Frederick Frazier. Dan married Nyra “Ruth” Frazier (Grimmitt) in Charleston, WV on August 31, 1957.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth; children, David (Sherry) Frazier, Stephen (Debi) Frazier, Karen (Brett Tate) Pereksta, Robin Seghetti; grandchildren, John (Tessa), Sarah (Stevie), Lisa, Gregory (Tara), Aaron (Melissa), Sondra (Brian, deceased), Stephanie (Casey), Dalton, Dylan, Harry; great grandchildren, Richelle, Serena, Carter, Frank, Caleb, Camilia, Kashyn, Hattie, Braylen, Nolan, Kayden. He was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Wilma; brother, William Frazier.
Dan served as a Navy Frogman (Seal) in the Korean War for four years before relocating to Ohio. He began his long working career at Masters Building as a chemical engineer. Dan and Ruth opened and operated Dan’s Village Inn for over 20 years, home of the Famous Pombo Burger. He became a pillar in the Perry community and made life long friends. Dan enjoyed working for Perry Township up until his retirement in 2022 at age 88. Dan had an unmatchable love for all sports and was an avid sports memorabilia collector. He coached Mentor Bantam Little League Football and Dan’s Village Inn softball team along with various other community sports teams. He loved telling the story of how he played basketball on a mud court as a child. Dan enjoyed being a Civil War reenactor as Jeb Stuart, CSA. He enjoyed his time working at the Perry Rec Center and watching John Wayne movies. Dan treasured his time spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will truly be missed.
Friends will be received 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison Ohio. Funeral service will be the next day, Wednesday, November 6, 2024, 11:00 AM at Perry United Methodist Church, 3875 Main Street, Perry Ohio, 44081. Minister Dalene Kelly will be officiating. Final Resting Place will be Perry Cemetery on Center Road.
