Frances Harriet Cole Griffin

Frances Harriet Cole Griffin, age 90 of Madison, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing Facility. Born August 10, 1925 in Thompson, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Lucy (Cover) Cole. After her mother passed away at an early age, she was raised by her late step-mother, Anna Schwitzler Cole.
A 1942 graduate of Thompson High School, Frances worked for Ohio Bell in Shaker Hts. and the Industrial Rayon Corporation. She also served as a waitress at the Parmley Hotel's Victorian Room and the Old Tavern in Unionville. A self taught cake decorator, she was an amazing baker. A Mom to many, she always took special time for everyone.
Frances is survived by her sons: Thomas W. Norman, Jr. and Joseph J. Griffin; grandchildren: Thomas W. Norman III, Maria Jayne Lausin, Annalisa Marie Griffin, Joseph J. Griffin II, Mishhanda Quinn Hissam and Sarah Fischlin; great-grandchildren: Rachel, Erin, Kaitlyn, Robert III, and Hailey, brother: Roy Harold Cole, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Thomas W. Norman Sr., Delbert Franklin Hissam, Robert Glen Griffin; son Richard Franklin Hissam; sisters: Dorothy Ferguson, Doris Dodge, and Virginia Popp; brothers: Frank and James Cole.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson.

Aunt Fran will be missed by my family and hers, but we know she is now with the Lord and with her family in Heaven. We send our condolences to her children, Tom and Rick and hope they find peace in the comfort of the Lord.
