Fran Dickinson
May 9, 1947 ~ January 12, 2014
Fran Dickinson, age 66, of Painesville (formerly of North Canton), went to her heavenly home on Sunday morning, January 12, 2014, after a long struggle with cancer. Born May 9, 1947 in Barberton, Ohio, she was the daughter of John and Christine (Casserman) Stopar. She married Jim Dickinson in Barberton on November 23, 1974.
Fran graduated from Barberton High School in 1965 and was a purchasing clerk with The Babcock and Wilcox Co. for many years. She volunteered at Mercy Medical Center in Canton and was involved with operating the North Canton Middle School clinic. Fran was a member of Lifeline Church in Madison, Ohio, and was blessed with many miracles through the aid of all the "prayer warriors." During her battle with cancer, she was also blessed with hope and healing from her doctor and staff at Lake Health Siedman Cancer Center. Fran loved the water and enjoyed walking the Lake Erie shore while looking for beach glass. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Fran is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Jim Dickinson; son Ryan (Robyn) Dickinson; grandchildren Alyson, Emily, and Aubrey; brother Bob (Joni) Stopar; sister Janice (Stephen) Yorks; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received from 11a.m. to 12p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Lifeline Church, 5236 Middle Ridge Rd., Madison, Ohio, 44057. Funeral Service will be 12p.m. on the same day at Lifeline Church. Final resting place will be at Perry Cemetery.
The family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, 44110-2602. Fran had also asked that people consider blood donation through the American Red Cross, and bone marrow, tissue, or organ donation.
