Ezra "EZStrong" Miller
June 21, 1955 ~ September 19, 2021
Ezra D Miller (aka Ez, Ezzie, EZStrong) was called to his Heavenly home on Sunday, Sept 19, 2021 at the age of 66. He passed away peacefully at Mentor Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Mentor, OH with Karen Kallay, his girlfriend, by his side.
He was born in Painesville, OH to Lois Jean Miller on June 21, 1955. He retired from Avery Dennison after 40 years of service in 2017. Ez was very proud of the patent he received for creating the design for the “Reusable Diaper Tape”. He resided in Madison, OH for the last 35 years.
Ez enjoyed golfing with all of his many golf buddies on the leagues, outings and tournaments which included most recently, trips to Beverly, OH and Mesquite, NV. One of the biggest moments in his life was getting a “Hole in One” on the 8th hole at the Painesville Country Club in 2019 in front of one of his best friends, Jim Laganke.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, his mom (Lois Miller) and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves behind his soulmate, Karen, of 35 years; his loving son, Ezra D Miller, Jr (Fawn Gosney); and special grandson, Ezra D Miller III; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be sorely missed by his furry friend, Bear of the Stormy Blizzard.
Special thanks to Debbie & Randy Lefelhoc who continuously sent inspirational cards and “Pawsitive Notes” to Ez. Special thanks also go out to all who called, texted, emailed and stopped by (with food) to give their love and support. Thank you also to all the nurses and aides that gave Ez comfort and care while at University Hospitals and Mentor Ridge Rehabilitation Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to American Cancer Society, 540 Water St., Chardon, OH 44024 or donate to your local furry rescue organization.
Arrangements were entrusted to Behm Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH. Ez did not want to have a service. We are going to honor his request, however, we will have a “Celebration of Life” party for Ez for family and friends when his golfing buddies return from their traditional golf trip in October.
Ez, we are already missing you; there is a big hole in our hearts. . . . I will always play your favorite slot machines for you! Love you. . . Karen and Bear

We are deeply sorry for your loss
Dear Ez. . . I miss you so much! Your passing is pulling on my heart strings but I know you are in a better place and no longer in pain. I will never forget all of our trips to the casinos, along with our yearly trips to Dan & Ro and John & Diane's homes. It just won't be the same without you. Bear is missing your walks outside! We love you, Ez! Rest in Peace.
Ezra. I’ll never forget all the good times we used to have working together at Avery. You will be sorely missed by everyone who knew you. Rest in peace brother.
Had the pleasure of becoming good friends with Ez through our mutual friend Sam during pool night. Watching him and Louie run the table was great to see. Until the young bucks finally got a win. Ez shook my hand so hard and said “That was some good shootin’ young fella! About time you guys got a win” LOL. One of many good memories. I will miss you man. Say hi to my pops!
Dear Ez, How could you leave us so soon. It's just not fair. Don always called you his brother in law. I have such a heavy heart. Thank you for being a big part of our family. You were the sweetest, kindest, and the most generous person I know. I will always remember all the good times the four of us had. Boating, fishing, playing poker and all the dinners we shared together. I will miss you so much. Stay out of trouble with Don up there. And you guys better watch over Karen, me, Bear and Lucky. Love you, Ez. Your sister in law, Theresa
Karen, We have just heard of Ezzie’s passing, and are so sad for your loss. Doug always enjoyed a chance to visit with Ezzie whenever the opportunity arose. Pleas know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Sincerely, Doug & Tamara Pike
