Bill and I shared an office area within the Mechanical Testing Dep't. at Lubrizol for several years. During that time I came to admire his ability to maintain his composure under occasionally trying conditions. I shall always recall, with a smile, the duck mural, putting green, bogus movie camera and, most of all, the Christmas trees that were a part of our little realm and a testament to his creative spirit. It comes as no surprise to me that Bill was much engaged in charitable activities. It is consistent with the kind and considerate gentleman whom I came to know. I am very pleased that I attended his 90th birthday celebration and was able to speak with him one last time and to share reminiscences with many others at this event. Bob Kansa

Uncle Bill was the kindest man with wonderful sense of humor. He told the funniest stories about his sons Dave and Chris. I remember the visits he and Aunt Betty made to Idaho and Arizona. He especially helped me with my tack room and I think of him every time I enter it.
Thank you, Bill, for all the kindness and generosity that you showed as Scoutmaster of our troop in Windsor in the 1960's. There are grown-up old boys with fond memories of those days. Likewise, I will always remember Betty, our sixth-grade teacher, reading Mark Twain to us in that little classroom in Windsor School.
Mr. Hansen was not only my neighbor, when I was a kid,he was our scout leader. One time we were camping out in the woods and unexpectedly it started to snow and the temperature dropped way below zero. Mr. Hansen got us out of our tents and had all of us walk to his house and sleep there. He watched over us and was a very nice scout leader. All of the Hansen's,Mr.,Mrs.,Dave and Chris were excellent neighbors. Mrs. Hansen was my favorite school teacher (6th grade) . One time my pony tried to knock me off of him,by running under a plumb tree, no one was home so Mrs. Hansen took me to Doc Ross. Afterwards she took me home. I am shure everyone who knew Mr. Hansen thought a lot of him. I know I did!!
