Elmer C. Elliott

Elmer C. Elliott, age 96, of Madison, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Altercare of Mentor. Born June 28, 1917 in Londenderry Township, PA, he was the son of Catherine (Smith) & Henry Milton Elliott. He married Emma Eleanor Mowrey in Cumberland, MD on September 13, 1939. Elmer worked as a shovel operator and explosives handler for the Leap Ganister Rock Company in Londenderry Township, PA from 1936-1956 and later retired after 14 years as an assembler at the Lintern Corp. in Mentor. He attended the Perry United Methodist Church for 54 years. Elmer was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his sons, Fred (Jane) Elliott of Boxspring, GA and Walter (Laura) Elliott of Painesville, OH; grandchildren, Tanya Warner, Kenny (Monique) Fischer, Cheryl (Joe) Lowder; great-grandchildren, Bobby, Nick, Amber, Ashley, Jackie, Diana, Rachel, Patrick, Michael; great-great grandchild, Gabe and sister, Catherine Smith. He has many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sisters, Ruth, Stella, and Elsie; brothers, Harvey, Carl, Charles, Bud, John and Chester. Graveside services will be observed at a later date. Final resting place will be at Perry Cemetery.
